Many of us grew up hearing the Gita, the Ramayana and temple stories from our grandparents. Our children, especially those growing up outside India, often don't get that chance. Most books and websites are either too scholarly or too short, and usually in only one language.
Sanatan Dharma Saral began as a simple wish: one place where a family can read the original Sanskrit verse, understand it in plain Hindi and English, and share it with their children. It has verse-by-verse meanings, stories, temples, festivals and kids' cards, all explained simply.
हममें से कई लोगों ने गीता, रामायण और मन्दिरों की कथाएँ अपने दादा-दादी से सुनीं। हमारे बच्चों को, खासकर जो भारत से बाहर बड़े हो रहे हैं, यह अवसर अक्सर नहीं मिलता। ज़्यादातर पुस्तकें और वेबसाइटें या तो बहुत विद्वत्तापूर्ण हैं या बहुत संक्षिप्त, और प्रायः एक ही भाषा में।

सनातन धर्म सरल एक सरल इच्छा से शुरू हुआ: एक ऐसी जगह जहाँ परिवार मूल संस्कृत श्लोक पढ़ सकें, उसे सरल हिन्दी और अंग्रेज़ी में समझ सकें और अपने बच्चों के साथ बाँट सकें। यहाँ श्लोकों के अर्थ, कथाएँ, मन्दिर, पर्व और बच्चों के कार्ड हैं, सब कुछ सरल भाषा में।
સનાતન ધર્મ સરલ એક સરળ ઇચ્છાથી શરૂ થયું: એવી જગ્યા જ્યાં પરિવાર મૂળ સંસ્કૃત શ્લોક વાંચી શકે, તેને સરળ ભાષામાં સમજી શકે અને પોતાનાં બાળકો સાથે વહેંચી શકે. અહીં શ્લોકોના અર્થ, કથાઓ, મંદિરો, તહેવારો અને બાળકો માટેનાં કાર્ડ છે, બધું સરળ ભાષામાં.

The site is in Hindi and English, and Gujarati is now being added, page by page. We plan to add more Indian languages, so that every family can read in the language they speak at home.
